Our Story

Picture of

It all began in March 2023—Abby's very first night in Tampa. She had come to town to search for apartments, knowing only one person in the city: her friend Becca. That night, Becca invited her out to SoHo, where she happened to be with a group of friends... including Michael. Neither of them knew it then, but that casual outing would be the beginning of their forever.

When Abby finally made the move to Tampa, their first official date was at Armature Works. The next two months flew by in a blur...boating days, nights out with friends, casual dinners that turned into late-night conversations—until they decided to take a weeklong trip to Cabo, it was then they decided to make things official.

Shortly after returning, Michael found out he'd be moving to New York City the following summer. With time still ahead of them, they chose to keep moving forward-together. Not long after, Abby returned to Arkansas for more classes, beginning another round of long distance. They visited each other often, making the most of every moment they could share.

When Abby came back to Tampa for her final rotation, they knew Michael's move was approaching quickly... Then came the big question: Would Abby move to New York with Michael? After countless conversations... and plenty of persuasion from Michael... she took the leap. From a small town in West Tennessee to Tampa, and now to the big city, their story was ready for its next chapter.

That fall, they settled into life in New York City. Michael began his career in investment banking at Jefferies, and Abby started her first job out of school at historic Bellevue Hospital. They learned to share a tiny apartment and even survived their first true NYC winter. Their story continued to develop in this new city, obvious to everyone who met them.

By the time their one-year NYC anniversary approached, they planned a dream trip to Greece. What Abby didn't know was that this trip would become the moment their story took its next, most exciting step. Abby and Michael made their way to the Greek island of Milos. From sailing around the island on a yacht to discovering hidden coves on an ATV, each day felt like a dream. All of it led to the moon-like cliffs of Sarakiniko at sunset on September 8th when Michael popped the big question. The rest of the trip became a celebration.

When they finally returned home to New York City, they were greeted by family and friends ready to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter. Now, with full hearts and a future they can't wait to build, they're counting down the days until their wedding in Key West!
